President Obama plans a January Edict to curtail the sale of guns in the USA.

Local sporting goods stores may be shut down for failing
to acquire new federal licensing. Feds may also deliberately stall
their paperwork or slow-walk them out of business.

You may be able to keep and bear arms, But you may not be able to buy arms like you used to.  In many liberal cities, gun retailers have already been regulated out of existence.  This might be a time to challenge his federal jurisdiction on commerce. The constitution only grants federal oversight of interstate commerce. Retailers rarely sell outside of their state boundaries.

  The key political showdown state will hold its presidential caucus on February 1st, and Ted Cruz has a Camp set up for hundreds of energetic and proficient campaign workers to use as a home base.
  Campaign officials secured the empty college dorms of AIB Business College (which will soon be the University of Iowa's Des Moines Campus). The facility will hold hundreds of campaigners who spend multiple days on the stump for Ted Cruz.

Police Step Up Raids On Norman Retailer

Oklahoma's flag has an exotic pipe featured; but is it legal to sell?

  In these times of Oklahoma's economic freefall, state & municipal law enforcement are adding to the crisis.

  For the 2nd time in as many months  they raided a licensed retailer and seized most of his inventory and operating cash.

  Their stated justification is that someone might use his products to get high. The merchant sells pipes of various designs.

Where does it end?

•  The matches and lighters at the town grocer were never raided.
• The copper tubing at the hardware store was not confiscated. 
•   The Demoral at the pharmacy  is still on sale.
•   Craft glue at the hobby shop and gasoline at the station can still be purchased at record low prices...

  But pipes are raided repeatedly, based on their imagery, rather than functionality.

  It's like outlawing an AR-15 rifle, but not the Browning 30-06 (which is far more lethal).

  Then net result is that state budgets keep getting smaller as sale tax collections continue to constrict.

  But law enforcement is now turning even more to Asset Forfeiture to fund themselves for further warfare against Oklahomans.

  Nothing encourages online shopping as much as when a patron fears a police raid on his home, simply because he bought a hookah pipe as a Christmas gift at a local merchant. And nothing shrinks sales tax collections as much as online shopping does.

Why the Buck Starts in the House

  The short answer is that the ISIS problem tying our country in knots is because people do not understand war.  What they understand is a political concoction used to resolve conflict in the least disagreeable way.  In other words, war has become an exercise in political correctness.
  The Constitution gives Congress the authority to declare war (Art. 1, Sec. 8).  Yet Congress has not done that since 1942.  Instead, there has been the use of military force started, more or less, by the President, and tolerated, more or less, by the Congress.
The difference between war and the use of military force is more than wordplay.  War requires an enemy be identified.  Using military force does not.  War ends with victory or defeat.  Using military force does not.

  Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, made an early attempt to unite fellow Christian Leaders to get behind one presidential campaign. On Dec. 7th he arranged a secret meeting, but no consensus was to emerge on that day.

  Since the Dec. 7 meeting, endorsements have been announced by influential figures such as James Dobson, a radio host who founded Focus on the Family; Brian Brown of the National Organization for Marriage; and Bob Vander Plaats, head of the Iowa Family Leader organization.

  Some of the 100 or so leaders flying to the ranch owned by conservative billionaire Farris Wilks are still considering other candidates, including Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.), who also is maneuvering to be the Trump alternative. But in recent weeks, Cruz has outpaced his rivals in the race to line up religious conservative support.

Oklahoma Conservatives Betrayed By Delegation

  Angry conservative lawmakers are howling about the massive spending bill signed into law Friday – slamming the party's leadership for pushing through a "bad deal" that'll only anger voters "fed up with the Washington cartel."

  While President Barack Obama and congressional leaders – including newly minted House Speaker Paul Ryan – defended the bipartisan deal hiking spending across government and extending a host of special interest tax breaks, critics sounded a starkly different note.

"I think this omnibus was a betrayal of the men and women who elected us," Republican presidential hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz said Friday.

"I think this omnibus was a betrayal of the men and women who elected us. It was Republican leadership playing Santa Claus to the lobbyists … and the special interests, and it's why people are fed up with the Washington cartel."

Alabama GOP Sen. Jeff Sessions echoed Cruz's portrayal of the deal as a "betrayal" of the trust conservative voters put in GOP leaders last year, adding that Congress should have at the very least reigned in Obama's refugee resettlement plan.

"There is a reason that GOP voters are in open rebellion," Sessions told The Washington Times.

Louisiana GOP Rep. John Fleming, in a radio interview prior to his "no" vote on the deal,
derided the legislation as "a laundry list of things that are not on it... and things that shouldn't be in it," calling it a "bad deal."

  But should we be surprised? Donald is an outsider and proud of it. A big part of his support comes from the fact that he's not heavily invested in the world of the beltway.

The Big Mo! Cruz Is Way Out Front In Iowa.

    A prominent evangelical leader in Iowa has endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz's presidential campaign as the Texas Republican's campaign continues to gain momentum. 

  The Des Moines Register has released their latest poll numbers tabulated just prior to the crucial endorsement from the head of THE FAMILY LEADER, of Senator Ted Cruz.
  As it did in '08 and '12 with Huckabee and Santorum, this key evangelical leader's endorsement has led to a massive shift in the Iowa Republican polling.  Cruz leads Trump by 10 points, followed by Carson and Rubio in 4th.

  Rand Paul said on Friday that, if the Republican establishment tries to block an outsider candidate from winning the party’s nomination through a brokered convention, “there’ll be war within the party and they’ll destroy the party.”
  Boston radio host Jeff Kuhner asked Paul what he thought of a Washington Post story that reported key figures within the Republican party are preparing for a contested convention in which, the story said, “the GOP’s mainstream wing could coalesce around an alternative” to Donald Trump, who continues to lead primary polls.

  Paul, who is polling toward the bottom of the Republican presidential field, expressed strong opposition to the plan.

Ted Cruz Grabs Iowa's Top Endorsement

Slate Magazine reports-
  The GOP hopeful on Thursday picked up the highly coveted endorsement of Bob Vander Plaats, an Evangelical leader who heads an influential social conservative advocacy group in the state. "At the end of the day, we truly believe that Ted Cruz is the most consistent and principled conservative who has the ability to not only win Iowa but I believe to win the (Republican) nomination," Vander Plaats, the president of the Family Leader, told the Des Moines Register.

Trump Selects Controversial Tulsan To Run Oklahoma Campaign

  The Tulsa World reports that former governor Frank Keating's twin brother, Dan Keating, is the co-chair of the Trump For President Oklahoma campaign.

  Tulsan Dan Keating was announced Tuesday as a co-chairman for Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s efforts in Oklahoma. Keating is president of Summit Consolidated Group. He is the brother of former Gov. Frank Keating.

   In 2013 Dan Keating campaigned for Democrat multi-millionaire, Kathy Taylor; in a general election against Republican, Dewey Bartlett jr.

  Keating said he is supporting Trump because he believes the country is in big trouble.

“I don’t think Republicans have done a good job of trying to straighten it out,” Keating said.

  Jenks Police Officer, Jason Jackson, charges some of his fellow candidates with conspiracy to violate the election laws and doubts their doubts their certification to serve in office.
  It seems the state requires that a sheriff actually has law enforcement training and certification. Jackson contends that some candidates are not current or have the wrong certification.

On December 8, Councilman White will propose an new ordinance for Oklahoma City making it illegal to smoke tobacco on all city property, including parks! Councilman White makes an exception for city golf courses and sidewalks. The reason for the exemption on golf courses is golfers tend to be affluent and prefer cigars. And sidewalks will be exempt as it’s difficult to enforce for sidewalks.

Presidential Hopefuls Begin Filing For Oklahoma Primary

Every state has a filing period.
Oklahoma's is in early December. 

Monday, Dec. 7th is the first day of the Oklahoma Election Board's 3-day filing period.

  By statute, the candidates seeking access to the Oklahoma presidential primary must file with the state election board during the 3 announced days, in early December.
  This may not be the national photo-op that it is in New Hampshire, but several media outlets will have correspondents staying in touch with the election board.
   In 2012, some upstart campaigns almost missed the opportunity to be on the ballot because they lacked the national campaign staff to keep up with the election laws of all 50 states. Senator Rick Santorum won the Republican primary in Oklahoma, but even his campaign failed to plan for the Oklahoma Super Tuesday filing window.  One mutual friend of Santorum and myself, took the 'last-minute' initiative to contact Santorum and offer to fill out the paperwork and provide the check on his behalf.

  Breitbart News previously pointed to this decline and explained it correlated with a massive increase in privately owned firearms over the same period of time. For example, Congressional Research Service showed that the number of privately owned firearms increased from 192 million in 1994 to 310 million in 2009. And record background checks under Obama make it easy to see how tens of millions more privately owned guns have found their way into Americans’ hands since 2009.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio Calls For Arizona Armed Citizens Posse

  That's what Sheriff Joe Arpaio is urging nearly a quarter-million Arizona gun owners to do to fight terrorism and mass shooters.
  On Tuesday, the so-called "Toughest Sheriff in America" said he cannot guarantee the public's safety and called on them to take matters into their own hands if necessary.

"I'm just talking about the areas where you have large crowds and someone pulls out the gun and starts shooting. Maybe somebody with a concealed weapon takes the guy down," Arpaio said.

  Trump's art of hardball negotiating television deals for his reality tv appearances appears to be upstaging his own effort to advocate for national government reform.
  Could this backfire on Trump's image as a statesman for political reform? More than a few have observed that Trump appears to be defying certain 'laws' of politics. This could be just another  instance of political rules not applying to Trump. And yet, many political handlers dismiss this $5 million dollar trick as just a pre-debate trick to continue his hype-based campaign and underscore his celebrity narcissism.

A Tale Of Two Counties: Carter & Tulsa

It is often somewhat hard to conceptualize the effect of restructuring Oklahoma's 531 public school districts. to that end, Sooner Politics' researchers  sampled two very stark contrasts in educational administration.
Owasso is a growing city in the far outreaches of Tulsa County. Their 11 schools are a part of one district with 9600 students and a very good superintendent who makes a very good salary. His teachers perform well in the classroom and state testing demonstrates  it through standardized testing.

  Carter County, on the other hand; has 9 school districts ranging from the 3000+ in Ardmore Public Schools, to districts as small as 200 students total. The 9300 students are spread throughout the county. Nine superintendents share the load and earn a combined $730K per year. The students score a very average result in standardized tests.

  Cleveland said that OSSAA’s decision is a continuation of a policy that infringes on people’s right to prayer.

TULSA JAIL GIVES INMATES ACCESS TO K2

  The evidence room at the Tulsa jail was reportedly full so the overflow area was out in a hall where inmates had access. The deputies arrested one inmate for stealing K2 (a synthetic drug).

According to the Tulsa World narrative:

On June 17, Sgt. Christopher Pierce of the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office, who was in charge of inmate work detail, transported Preibe and another inmate, Ryan Riehl, 36, from the Tulsa Jail to the Sheriff’s Office. Preibe was unsupervised in the basement during the work assignment, an affidavit states 

About 2 p.m., Pierce instructed Preibe and Riehl to load a truck with files and file cabinets. Pierce noticed Preibe walking quickly to the shop break area, where he followed him, according to an affidavit. 

From a mirror on the door leading to the break room, Pierce watched Preibe get down on the floor and put something under a locker.

  Tulsa County citizens had their first opportunity to sort out the many options vying to be elected as the next Tulsa County Sheriff. Tulsa County Republican Mens' Club organized the event with the help of Brookside Baptist Church, SoonerPolitics, Tulsa World, and Tulsa Frontier.

  I drew the first spot and asked the first question of the night. I decided that a good opener would be to ask the candidates what parts of the sheriff's office gets too many resources and what aspects need more resources. Their responses were good, but few actually got to specifics or numbers.

  Tulsa went too long with the disgraced former sheriff. Eventually, a grand jury drove him from office and indicted him on misdemeanor complaints.
  Now we begin the careful process of selecting a new lawman to lead this county, and keep it safe and free. The citizens only get to select one peace officer so we best get it right this time.
  This Friday night the Tulsa County Republican Mens' Club is hosting a special public meeting and inviting the Republican candidates to come interview with the voters and get their trust and support. Three local journalists (including myself) will come with a prepared list of open questions for all the candidates to weigh in on. But the emcee would also like your input. Write your question on an index card and present it at the event. But make sure the question is applicable to all the candidates and not specific to just one or a few of them.

Conservative Debate Idea: Limbaugh, Levin, & Hannity Would Host

  With CNBC reeling from a horribly-managed debate, and perhaps the most biasly rude panelists; Sen. Ted Cruz floated a great idea to Sean Hannity shortly after the event;

  "Why not have a debate where questions come from people who will actually vote in the Republican primaries?", said Cruz.

  Hannity jumped at the idea and offered to  recruit Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin.
  Well, we looked up the remaining schedule and found that the NBC networks are being granted another debate by the RNC. On February 26th the key event will be held in Houston, TX and this is less than a week before the massive "Super Tuesday" balloting.

Paul Ryan Insults the Freedom Caucus

  With a principled and experienced man like Daniel Webster, why would the Freedom Caucus put up with the insulting and condescending behavior of Rep. Paul Ryan?

  Last night, Paul Ryan even added some rude inferences to the Freedom caucus, accusing them of behaving like hispanic children who physically beat the Speaker like a pinãta in their childish fits.

  We don't even have any indications that Ryan can run the House of Representatives any better than Boehner; or that he will reform the House in the fundamental ways that Webster outlined.

Rep. Perryman Advocates For Anti-Catholicism Plank of Oklahoma's Constitution

In the very liberal publication, The Oklahoma Observer; Rep. David Perryman(Democrat-Chickasha) presses for Oklahoma to retain the bigoted language in our constitution known as "The Blaine Amendment".
In some of the darker days of Oklahoma's history, there were many anti Roman Catholic sentiments. These were nothing more than ignorant fears residing in the predominantly Democrat political environment.
This Summer, Oklahomans suffered some of the vestiges of that era, because we ignored our past errors and hid them, rather than confront the bigotry we had tolerated and promoted.
As we wrote in July, the Blaine Amendment language failed to be adopted to the US constitution. It was a blatant attempt to project the anti Catholic bias of many Americans.

   After getting out to a great start in financial recovery from the Weston debt, Chairman Randy Brogdon hit a 'snag' this summer in fundraising. Internal strife only added to the financial woes. Governor Fallin and many other state leaders have only offered armchair criticism, and the primary funding for party operations fell upon Tea Party activists to provide.
  One wealthy Tulsa businessman told me he was dropping his Elephant Club membership because "the damn tea party took over!". I mentioned that the Tea Party has always been very active in the party; but he insisted that something akin to a terrorist coup is now running the OKGOP.  Now, this businessman has not been to any party conventions. Most of the wealthy party operatives seem to disdain mixing with the commoners. And that is sad. It is the result of some divisive operatives deliberately executing a whisper campaign of fear. Someone is trying to divide and dismantle the OKGOP

Hernandez lacks experience, wisdom, and discretion

  The plain-dealing honesty that Oklahoma's Republicans offer to our voters is one of the most important virtues that led to the massive shift from Democrat control. But many forces are eroding that distinction. Opportunists have engaged many efforts to co-opt that principle for personal gain.
  It is time for the Republicans to be circumspect and thorough in the decisions about leadership. Many new faces have emerged and they need to be adopted into the 'tent'. But they also need to be fully vetted for leadership.

Two years ago, Estela Hernandez finally became a delegate to her first OKGOP State Convention. She had just been elected to her first leadership post as the 5th District Committeewoman from Oklahoma County. In May of 2013, she also wrote an opinion piece for The Okie news blog. In that article she strongly advocated for the Heritage Foundation to embrace the reforms of Senate Bill 744 (coauthored by Marco Rubio and Charles Schumer). That bill allows all illegal aliens in the U.S. to stay legally, if they pay some money and stay out of trouble. Conservative groups broadly reject that bill as a purchased amnesty.

Analogy

Only proper deterrents curb bad behavior

 I recall cutting into the front of the lunch line when I was in elementary school. I got caught by a hall monitor. I was NOT able to pay off the monitor and keep my ill-gotten place in the front of the line. No, I was set aside and not allowed to get my food until all others were done getting theirs. Now that is what deterrents look like.

Paying off govt. officials is not a deterrent.

  Hernandez insists that she does not support amnesty, but she has a different definition than most of us.  And that is not what Oklahomans call 'plain-dealing'.

Contentious

  Beyond this issue, Hernandez also failed to fully explain her behavior in the June controversy with the OKGOP Chairman, Randy Brogdon. KFAQ Radio's news director and morning talk hosts roundly condemned her behavior after listening to a recorded confrontation which she falsely characterized as a verbal accosting from the chairman.   Robert Hubbard provides Oklahoma with a wise, tempered, and inclusive opportunity fill the open chairmanship post.  He has served 2 terms as a county chairman. They were very successful terms with significant growth. He now serves as the 3rd District Chairman. He is a coalition builder. He has experience in running campaigns, running for offices, and building winning coalitions.

  Pam Pollard has also provided many years of leadership. Party members have repeatedly put their trust in her. She has a good grasp of the job, an excellent understanding of the rules, And she garnered 47% of the delegate votes at the 2015 OKGOP Convention.
  No one likes grandstanding, but it usually works. Pollard has been known to employ the tactic. Yet she would be far preferable to the novice.
