Sales Tax Waivers For Google Venders

Picture
Senator Clarke Jolley just pushed through an amendment to SB1282 which will exempt a Google vender from paying sales tax on paper purchased from out-of-state, for production.
At a time when citizens are being pressed to pay sales tax on items bought from out-of-state, it remains a consistent inconsistency whereby the well-connected can be exempted from taxes which the little guy is coerced to pay.
It's not wrong to vote for a tax exemption, but it's hard to press for higher taxes, closed exemptions, and eliminated credits, when the legislature carves out an amendment written to benefit one particular vendor. the factory worker has to buy steel-toed boots, & Carhartt protective wear for his job, but must pay all taxes when he buys it from Amazon.com.
It's good to see a special constituent get a good deal. The amendment to SB1282 is a carve-out for a good deal to Google vendors.  It would be good to see the employees at Google and other industries get the same "good deal".
  SB1282 passed on a 46-0 tally
