Retraction: Limo & Uber Are Not Taxed

We just finished communicating with Rep. Jon Echols & Senator Ralph Shortey on a report filed earlier, today. We apologize for mischaracterizing their bill as a new tax on transportation services.   The bill they sponsored specifically excludes transportation services from local sales tax.    Rep. Echols reported that a municipality had approached a shuttle company and demanded a local tax for every limousine which drive through their city limits enroute to another city.   Echols & Shortey are fighting to keep such drivers and services from being unfairly taxed twice for their work. ​ Jon Echols and his staff are working to keep SoonerPolitics better informed when a new tax is being pushed in the state legislature.
