The son of Ron Paul has become a Washington player by forming a political truce with fellow Kentucky senator, Mitch McConnell. And now Rand steps up to announce his backing of Donald Trump (the guy who used the GOP debate stage to attack Rand's looks).
This is the ugly, unprincipled, and completely phony side of the political party requirements. Rand spent much of 2014-15 going around the republic, promoting the Republican party as the vehicle for liberty and prosperity. Reason Magazine is calling out Rand Paul for this latest endorsement of Trump. They deem Trump "the least Libertarian candidate". |
What is motivating Se. Rand Paul? Is he a pure phony? Is he just paying'lip service' to the party leadership? It's clear that Rand cannot be heartfelt in his endorsement of both liberty and Trump. We'll see who he's being phony to. Because if Trump fails, Rand Paul will certainly be well set for a 2020 presidential run.
