Remembering David Brumbaugh

Picture
Multiple capitol sources are confirming news of the passing of Rep. David Brumbaugh, of Broken Arrow. David served these past sessions as chairman of the Republican Caucus. He and his wife & daughters reside in Broken Arrow and represent a large portion of BA in the state legislature.

Brumbaugh was elected in 2010 and his seat is known as a bastion of Tea Party conservatism. David also operated an energy company. His ancestry includes two former Oklahoma governors, according to an interview he made for the capitol media services.

Funeral plans are not yet released and further details will be expected Sunday.

Sources close to the family say Brumbaugh had been suffering from complications of diabetes and a heart condition was also a concern. He's been seen using a cane from time to time.

Brumbaugh served as a state co-chair for the Ted Cruz campaign and Brumbaugh also served Oklahoma Republicans as a delegate to the GOP National Convention, in Cleveland, OH.
