A Conservative's Guide To Town Hall Attendance

Picture
This week Oklahoma Congressional delegates have announced several "town hall" meetings. Citizens will have several opportunities to attend a gathering, but getting there early is a key to even getting in the building.  National leftist groups are funding some very advanced efforts to co-opt the meetings and force a narrative of their own.
Some congressmen are holding small gatherings in remote towns during inconvenient times. This is unfortunate and ill-advised.
One congressman, Jim Bridenstine, is taking a different tact. He rented out one of the biggest venues in the state for his meeting. Tonight he asks his constituents to arrive at the Mabee Center (81st & Lewis Ave.), before the 6pm opening.  Some groups are distributing plain green cards to counter the Red Cards that obnoxious leftists are utilizing.

Ten Suggestions For Attending Town Hall Meetings...

Picture
  1. Arrive early. This could be a historic event, or it could be a sleeper. You won't know until the event happens.
  2. Stay orderly but engaged. You will be a part of a very documented event. Don't embarrass the cause, or your family's reputation in the community.
  3. Bring friends. The other political factions are recruiting their allies. The numbers will indicate community opinion on important issues.
  4. Bring a list of topics/questions and prioritize them. Mark off the issues that are sufficiently addressed and be ready to ask a question if no one else did.
  5. Advocate! Clap, cheer, laugh, ... whatever you believe is appropriate.
  6. Have a camera ready. You may have a great opportunity to capture the unexpected.
  7. Don't get ejected or arrested. It takes away from the substance you're advocating. Expect to be screened before getting in the arena (including metal detectors).
  8. Green & Red Cards make a silent statement. Don't let other's drown out your voice just by holding the only cards in the auditorium.
  9. Don't be bullied into silence. Standing for your values is very important. The alternative is unthinkable.
  10. Thank your congressman for holding this meeting. He wants a healthy dialogue. The disruptive left just wants to throw a fit in front of news media.
