Ted Cruz defeated Donald Trump by a large margin in this weekend's contests. Cruz gathered 41% of the vote in 4 state contests: Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Maine. Three of the four were party caucus events. Louisiana holding the primary.
The Saturday events of this past week have capped off a huge change in the GOP presidential competition.
Ted Cruz entered last week with 2 stinging losses in South Carolina and Nevada. But the rules changed when the Super Tuesday states largely followed a more disciplined standard of voter eligibility. Trump has had to rely on states where non Republicans were allowed to vote in the party elections.
The two other minor candidates; Rubio and Kasich, barely reached double digits in the March 5th contests.
