Bridenstine Named Oklahoma Chairman Of Cruz Campaign
Senator Ted Cruz is planning an August 13th duet of Oklahoma Town Hall meetings with Congressman Jim Bridenstine, according to sources close to the congressman.
The Texas senator recently appointed Congressman Bridenstine as the Oklahoma Campaign Chairman of his 2016 presidential bid. The two are deeply involved in promoting legislation to modernize the energy policy and are co-authoring initiatives.
The Bridenstine team says several presidential candidates have approached Jim, and he also took the initiative to seek key policy positions from several GOP hopefuls. But the Cruz connection goes much deeper than policy.
Ted has been a close confidant and the two have a deep friendship and mutual admiration for how the other has summoned the courage to advance principled positions. Aides talk of late night discussions the two have had, sitting up on the roof of Jim's D.C. lodging location.
Tentative events include Tulsa County and Washington County town hall events.
